My Stats: 5’8” 139 pounds 

I’ve lost nearly 50 pounds since March. My strategy is pretty simple - create a calorie deficit while being sure to fuel my body so I stay healthy.  I typically eat 1200-1500 calories a day, run about 3 miles on average, and pick a random workout.

&lt;p&gt;1 mile run at 7:30/mile pace&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m trying to reduce my 5k time - one mile at a time :) At 7:30, I&amp;#8217;ll finish the 5k just over 22:30 so I ran one mile at that pace yesterday.  It was really tough - especially on the treadmill. I still didn&amp;#8217;t bring my iPod.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Homemade WOD - 3 Rounds&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Run 2 laps around the track&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;20 mountain climbers&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;30 squats&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;up and down the stairs twice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;30 second wall squat &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;It was so hard to run after the wall squats lol I should have added more to this though.&lt;/p&gt;

It was a rough start getting really bored but toward the end I remembered how to keep myself motivated with running at different speeds for certain distances, etc.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tomorrow&amp;#8217;s workout will be another homemade wod. I know for sure I want to do some mountain climbers. &lt;p&gt;Went really early so it was empty. Took a couple of medicine balls into the gym and made it happen :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;1 lap around the gym&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;lunges w/medicine balls (1/2 the distance of the gym and back)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;10 &amp;#8220;box jumps&amp;#8221; on the bleachers&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;30 situps with the medicine balls&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;4 rounds&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Stairclimber for 10 minutes&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then we did that machine that lets you bend side to side/back and forth with weights.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Today&amp;#8217;s Homemade WOD&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I had an extra friend today :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;2 laps around the track&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;30 squats&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;10 pushups&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;60 second plank&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Run up and down the stairs twice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;3 rounds&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then 40&amp;#160;KB swings, that leg lift thing that makes you feel like a gymnast, and 30 push presses&lt;/p&gt;

And then that snowballed into me feeling bad about not getting everything done and then I didn&amp;#8217;t want to do anything.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m glad that&amp;#8217;s all behind me now :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, I decided to take a break from CF this month (very reluctantly) since I can&amp;#8217;t justify spending that much money on myself around the holidays when it should be spent on loved ones.  But that is okay. My friend (that gets me into the gym for free) is back from Panama and I have four days for next week lined up.  Also, my CF coach posts the workouts of facebook so I&amp;#8217;ve already been doing some of the workouts at home.  I have to get a little creative with some of the equipment, but hey nobody can see it :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m starting December with a food journal for at least the first 5 days to help me get back on track about what I&amp;#8217;m eating (1700 calories today and most of them were not very nutritious-tmrw will be better!!). I&amp;#8217;ve been so busy that I&amp;#8217;ve been skipping meals or finding sustenance in a vending machine :/ If I plan ahead, I won&amp;#8217;t need to do that - so that&amp;#8217;s the key. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For school work, I just need to do a little each day and it won&amp;#8217;t be so overwhelming and I have goals set for that now. I just need to stick to them - no sleep until the daily goals are accomplished!! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Biggest disappointment of November - I still can&amp;#8217;t do a pull up. I can do knees to elbows and toes to bar which I couldn&amp;#8217;t do before, so that&amp;#8217;s progress and I&amp;#8217;m not going to cry about it.  I do want to end the year with the ability to lift my body weight the few inches necessary to do a pull up, though! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I also need to post more. It&amp;#8217;s something that keeps me moving and this month, I didn&amp;#8217;t even want to log on because I didn&amp;#8217;t have enough time. But in December, I will at least post what I did to workout each day.  Since I have to get creative, I&amp;#8217;m sure people will benefit from it (I&amp;#8217;m sure there are those in my same boat!). &lt;p&gt;Then, I went home and finished my &amp;#8220;healthy&amp;#8221; version of a traditional meal.  The turkey, of course, low calorie stuffing, low calorie gravy, and some roasted root veggies. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After that, we went on a family turkey trot. ahahaha!!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Pfft. I did not do so great :) I came in 172/189 woah. I&amp;#8217;m glad they took forever to get that up because I got some momentum from that event that pushed me to try new sports, etc, and I&amp;#8217;m not quite sure I would&amp;#8217;ve had that confidence had I known where I placed :) &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1 hr 39 mins.  It was the biking that did me in - I don&amp;#8217;t recommend using a mountain bike (especially when you don&amp;#8217;t know how to work the gears) - sort of like bringing a knife to a gun fight :)&lt;/p&gt;

I&amp;#8217;m no longer overweight, but I do have a trouble zone right in my lower tummy. By Saturday - after a week of crossfit - it magically disappears. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Don&amp;#8217;t think I&amp;#8217;m ridiculous - it really happens. Don&amp;#8217;t get me wrong - those stretch marks from being a mom are still there, but I wake up and my stomach is flat.  Then on Sunday, I get a little overconfident and make a bad food choice - that turns into a few of them, and on Tuesday, we start the process all over again. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Seriously - no more bad choices on Sundays and Mondays - even if I am going to amazing restaurants with shrimp tostados and chile rellenos that have freaking pumpkin seeds dammit! :D This with Thanksgiving next week - well, I&amp;#8217;ll make it through this weekend at least!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There&amp;#8217;s the run series in my area with 14 or so races that you earn points for how you place and an awards ceremony that happens the following January (I&amp;#8217;m already putting my name on the programs).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I know I don&amp;#8217;t have an amazing time yet but I have to earn it or else my friend will pull a Kanye and get that damn award for me :)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So tomorrow I&amp;#8217;m going to a place where I&amp;#8217;ve previously done a 5k (because I know the path) and I&amp;#8217;m going to time myself to get a starting time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then, I&amp;#8217;m going to find some ideas online (i&amp;#8217;ve already done a little research on that end) and come up with a plan for reaching the 22 minute goal I have for these races. &lt;/p&gt;
